i don't know if this topic has been covered - if so, i'll search through old posts. but has anyone found a product to polish up the grill shell? i've tried several products (mothers, never-dull, ibiz, etc.) and none of them made it look any better. it has very minor scraches, but just has a very dull look to it. any help would be great.
thanks

it's plain aluminum, it's not going to look great. If you want to spend some time, get a can of Blue Magic, roll up your sleeves, and have at it! You will spend hours, and rub your fingers to the bone, but it might work. Seriously, Blue Magic is very softly abrasive, and will not scratch anything as long as you don't apply it with sandpaper. This means that it will take more rubbing effort to clean and polish, but in the end, nothing will shine as brightly. I don't know if it will work on the grill, you'll be in for several hours anyway even if it does work. I guarantee it will clean all the bug splatter off of it at least.

460,
Aluminum polish is the way to go. Don't use an abrasive. If it's scratched that bad just replace it. Aluminum is a very soft metal and scratches very easily. Just polish it and pray for good results. On this project your better off being lucky, than good.

Actually most of the grill shells are aluminum with aluminum anodizing. The anodizing is quite hard. Cloth polishing buffs on a drill with aluminum or stainless compound might help but it would be quite a project to do right.
