I'm just a guy who likes to make stuff.

I guess I could do tech articles... but also pretty soon I'll be selling DIY videos on e-bay I have about 80 hours of truck-related video tape waiting to be transferred to the PC for editing, compiling, and after-the-fact narration.

Oh well, eventually

Q. What mods give the most bang for the buck?

Q. What are the base HP/Torque numbers for my motor?

Q. How do I change radius arm bushings? Subsequently, poly or rubber? (comes up a lot I noticed)

Q. What are factory rim sizes and options? Maybe have pics of stock F-150/250/350 wheels with their given width spanning 87-96. Seems a lot of folks ask for rim width.

Q. What size tires will fit on my stock rims?

My Power windows need help rolling up, what's the problem?

How about...

What free/cheap things can I do to get 400 HP?
Do Honda wings fit my F150?
I can't afford machine work, will a 12V turbonator fan give me 200 more HP?

frederic, I did some research on your questions since you had such good FAQs.

1. Remove all belt driven accessories for 10% (note- power steering is a 'want' not a 'need', move down to sea level for 15%, cutoff the exhaust pipe before the muffler for 10%, remove your air filter for 5%, finally put Accel, MSD, Moroso, Flowmaster and edelbrock stickers on the tailgate for 20%. That's 60% HP gains for FREE! That will put a base 250HP motor at 400HP without breaking the bank. No need to skip next month's alimony payment with cheap mods like that JimmyBob!

2. Only 92-98 Accord V6 model wings will fit 'right'. Civic wings just look plain silly and the new Accord wings just don't stay on long with 99 cent store double sided tape. Don't bother painting the wing to match either- That red wing will look trick on your white truck.

3. That is all hype. The 12V turbonator fan will only give 195 HP. I would recommend direct port botox injections for the gains you are looking for.

Q. What engine do I have?
Q. What is the base timing, how do I check it?

Give me some time, I'll post some more later.

ROFLMAO!

Can I put Hummer parts on my F250?

If I put on a cam in my 300 powered F150, can I tow 25,000 lbs?

My girlfriend doesn't like my pickup, should I sell it and by a Civic to keep the relationship?

I want to install a turbo. Who will sell me one for $10?
(sorry, that bit of sarcasm belongs on the turbo forum... sorry...)

If I paint my truck red, will it be faster?

I put kerosene in my pickup, and my 351W gave me 35 miles to the gallon. Everyone add Kerosene!

Sorry, in a sarcastic mood...

You guys crack me up. I see these all the time: "My headlights quit, wheres the fluid holder for the headlights?" or "How do you change muffler bearings?"

Alright maybe I dont, but wouldnt that be funny?

I think a FAQ is an incredible idea, considering I cant even find the search thing. Maybe I'm just blind. It took me 3 months to find out how to edit my user CP.

Chinese Proverb - there is an idiot in every group.

2nd chinese proverb - look around among your friends, and identify the idiot. If you don't find one, it's you.

3rd chinese proverb - due to #1 and #2, never be alone LMAO!

Idiots are everywhere.

I used to participate in ad-hoc tug of wars, on a particular dead street. This got to be a fun thing for me, because unless I broke something, I won. Period. People whined that my truck was heavier than theirs, or my 8-71 blown 460 was too powerful for them to compete fairly, though I did yank *many* diesel dually crewcabs my way no problem. Yet, they still whined.

They always missed the obvious...

my old 81 crewcab had 48" tires. Imagine the lift, i.e. the distance between the ground and my frame and pintle hitch. Now imagine, what lift kits you can buy for your truck.

Being significantly higher, I'd not only yank them back, but *up* which reduced their traction.

Seemed obvious to me *shrug*.
