My truck was violated!!!! Some sorry excuse of a human decided they wanted in my truck. I woke up this morning around 7:30 to find out that someone broke the back door window on my truck and stole my 140 some odd piece craftsman tool box. To make it worse they decided to put a knife through the sidewall on one of my tires for a reason known only to them. Know to make it even worse they stole about 800 dollars worth of tires that were next to the truck. Thankfully they were kind enough not to steal 600 dollars worth of stereo equipment, and few other items that were also in the truck. The sheriff that came out made a report and atempted to take finger prints but the morning dew and dirt on the truck made that difficult. Whoever did this better hope that I dont find them cause i have a baseball bat with their name all over it. I guess its not safe to park MY truck in MY driveway these days. Well now I get to find out how hard it is going to be to find a new window for the back door.
Sorry for the long post I just had to rant a little.

sorry about your loss rich!---put a tool box in the bed of your truck that can be locked and then get yourself a small dog with a large "bark" and you will have both a burglar alarm and the best friend any man could ask for.....fd :-X11
Sorry to hear that. You know it was a gearhead cause they took the tools and tires and not the radio. My guess would be a Chevy guy, because he'll NEED the tools to fix his junker.Plus-no Ford person would DARE mess with such a beautiful crew.Very nice truck!Try calling auto glass shops, most times they can get or make what you need.If not there used to be a crew cab parts truck near me that I had my eye on.I could check if the guy still has it.No guarantees but I'll definitely check into it.
it's not safe anymore. down my lane a excursion and vette where torched last summer, neibour had his car stolen out of his driveway, and mine was broken into. luckily i found the guy. he didn't steal anything but just broke the window.
Sure sorry to hear about your truck. Mine was broken into years ago with a broken rear window, and all my tools stolen, and it still hurts, even though everything was replaced.
I'm not sure about Smith and Wesson Insurance, since they sold out to the gun-control crowd. I go with Colt, personally. (Did you know the SF guys in Afghanistan are getting rid of their 9mms and reaching for good ole' slabsides? That's for real, and proves the 9mm is too wimpy for man stopping!)
Sorry to hear about the break-in and your loss of items. A few years ago my Bug was broken into the same day I was finished putting a stereo in it valued at about 4k. They were morons and were only able to acquire the custom sub enclosure. They cut up my seats looking for the amps and then they destroyed my deck after they realized there was no possible way it was coming out of the dash. The following night, they broke into my Ranger and swiped the deck out of it. The night after that, I layed in wait across the street behind some bushes and dressed in all black with the old .45 Glock at the ready. Sure enough, at about 3 AM, a Chrysler rolled around the corner, killed it's lights, dropped it into neutral, and coasted up to the front of my driveway. They came to a stop and all 4 of the people in the car looked up the driveway. I wanted so badly to puch a couple of thumb-sized holes into the back of the car but I waited.. about 20 seconds went by and I heard the tranny get dropped back into gear. They pulled away at idle speed, turned their lights back on and then drove off. Never to come back.
Looking back, taking justice into my own hands would have been a very dumb move. Especially over just a few posessions. But I don't know if you feel like I do about it.. I could care less about the items, it's just the fact that some lazy jerk that is probably sucking welfare from all of us violated my property. What I worked hard and honestly for.. he took. The only solace that I have is that I know karma is brutal. And may it hit the person that violated your rig, tenfold.
Well guys I could not be more happy with the sheriff's than I am right now. Around 2 today I got a call from the Detective incharge of my case and he said he had some of my tires there at the station. Showed up to the station to find my tool box and all but one tire. It turns out that one of the guys that stole my stuff had also broken into his neighbors truck and stole alot of tools. Sad thing is that the guy had a trail of tools leading right back to his place. The Detective questioned him about all the tires in his yard and they confesed. The sheriff's are still going to look for the other tire that was taken, because the guy stole the stuff but mainly wanted the 315 goodyear mtr for his truck. He gave the sheriff a bull ***** story about how it was stolen from him after he stole it, but no one seems to believe him. Gee I wonder why. I also found the window at a local glass place for a little less than 100 bucks, so I am real happy about that. The lady told me that windows like that for old chevy sell for up to 700 dollars so theres another real Im glad I drive a FORD. Believe me, my truck is protected by plenty of firearms, but dont do me much good when Im asleep and the truck is at the garage. A guard dog wouldnt be a bad investment though.

My truck is protected by Ruger. 9mm's are good for self-defense and .45's are better. But let me tell you, if you want them stopped, reach for a .44 mag. I'm not that bad of a shot but I got 5 more if the first one misses. If they aren't running by the time the second round goes off, it's because the first one found it's mark. And if I do miss, the shockwave from that mag will slow them down. Of course I don't have to really worry about that because I live in WY but you never know how desperate people are. So let em try, WYO is really leniant on this sort of stuff, tresspassing and self defense and the like. I trust they value their life more than they value a Sony deck and some 6-1/2" speakers. It's up to them.
Sorry to hear that some people didn't respect your home and possesions. It sounds like a happy ending though. I would keep an eye out for that guy. He could be a repeat offender.
On another note, I'm surprised more people do not use car alarms! Ya their noisy, annoying and over abundant. But they do work. I've only got a 78 f150 with nothing of real value in the cab, but I use a car alarm. I have the sensitivity set low so it will only go off when someone actually puts their weight into it or opens the door. That allows for less false alarms. If anything it will at least spook the would be assailant into making a hasty retreat.
Too bad about the break-in. My shop was broken into and cleared out the day after I painted my truck. It was sitting there in pieces with brand new paint on it, and all my tools were gone so I couldn't reassemble it. At least insurance was good enough to replace what was taken, (almost 4k worth). I heard they caught the guys later in the summer, they had hit like 20 other farmsteads around the county. They would open up the doors to the shop and back their truck in and start filling, when the truck was full, they would open the doors and drive off. That takes a lot of stones and no brains.
