4X2 to 4X4......
I have a quick question. I have a '92 Ford F-150 4x2 and my neighbor has a '90 Ford F-150 4x4 that he is scrapping and has offered to donate the transfer case etc. if I want to convert mine to 4x4. I have read the tech article re: the actual conversion and what is involved and I was just curious will the '90 Ford transfer case etc. bolt on to the '92??
Thanks to anyone who can provide any guidance!

However, the front suspensions are very different between 4x4 and 4x2, so you'll have to install that as well. Sometimes it's a true bolt in, other times it's a little trickly.
It's the same transfer case...a BW 13-56...it should say it right on the transfer case (to make sure).
All you'd have to do is unbolt the transfer case off that transmission, and then get the right tailshaft on your transmission, and it'll bolt on. We have a transmission forum below that you'd find helpful. I don't know the details of the tailshaft swap, but I'm pretty sure you can just swap the tailshaft/housing on the end.
Frederic, are you thinking of something else regarding the suspensions? They are interchangeable between a 2wd and 4wd...
The entire 4wd suspension should just swap right in. Out with the old and in with the new.
