On the 2002, there are 3 connectors under the master cylinder (these are not the group of 5 connectors on the drivers side wheel well). On the front connector, lower one (GREY in color) you should see a purple wire with a yellow stripe. It should be pin # 6 (leaving the plug plugged up, the clip on the side counting as the top), second row down, second wire from the left (standing on the drivers side). The wires are numbered on the outside of the plug if you want to check to be sure.
I don't know if yours will be different, but maybe this will lead you in the right direction.
Thank you so much. I've heard about this purple wire with the yellow strip many times before. Maybe Ford kept them the same from 95 up to your year. Now on my truck, there are two connectors that plug into the master cylinder, one side by side. Guess I will have to dig around and look for that wire. I'll look for pin #6.
If anyone can 2nd his motion that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Joe!
It's the wiring plugs UNDER the master cylinder, not plugged into the master cylinder.
You can also trace it up from the transmission itself. It comes out of the oval shaped plug on the passenger side t'words the rear and on top.
