Ford will stop taking orders for the Lariat Amarillo October 21st, maybe sooner. It will be replaced by a 2006 Harley Super-Duty (6.0/ crew-cab 4x4 only), which Ford will start taking orders for in late October. This marks the first time there will be both a 150 and Super-Duty H-D available in the same model year.
So, if you've had your heart set on an Amarillo, better get your order in now!
You have to wonder why Ford still had the Amarillo Package listed as an option on their website and not the Harley Davidson package. i wonder how many are left out there on dealer lots.
Also, I would have considered the Amarillo Package since I liked most of the features. However, the two I hated were not being able to get a gasoline engine and the roof clearance lamps (according to the brochure). Yet, I discover today that roof clearance lights were NOT standard with this package.
...I wonder how many are left out there on dealer lots...
Oh, you'd be surprised. We never had one because YELLOW has never sold well here, but there are quite a few Amarillos scattered throughout the Northeast right now.
There's a couple closeby but MSRP is $52k+ so even with The Simple Plan, it is more than I can go for. I guess they wanted it to be quite unique, only offering the Diesel motor.
I understand that if it is not on the assembly line by Dec. 15th then they will not be made. The local dealer here told me that there would be no more orders since they would not hit the line until after the 1st. of the year. Also understand that the yellow will no longer be had. I have friend that wants a yellow one now but cannot get it without buying a white truck and sending it in to be repainted.
