egr ???
The pipe leading to the egr valve on my 1990 302 is leaking somewhere underneath thw wrap. Is there anyway to fix this problem without taking the plenum off? I am up in Canada, so is there any need for this egr system anyway? I don't know if this would be why sometimes my truck will start and then shut down and also, it sometimes stumbles while acceleration in the 2nd and 3rd gear. Can anyone please help I'm sick and tired of hearing mechanics telling me the truck is ok when i know it isn't.

scan for codes. either by here www.fordfuelinjection.com or a local parts store can do it. this will tell ya if your egr is acting up or any other sensor on the motor. the egr is indeed needed for emission purposes. you should be able to replace that tube at most auto part stores. just know they dont call it an egr tube but something else i cant recall at this time. good luck

the upper plenume does have to come off to change the tube.its not that bad of a job.you will need a 27 torques socket to get the center bolt out.while your there it would be a good idea to replace the valve cover gaskets if thay are leaking.
