Blown 351 windsor
I want to build up a 351 windsor but I'm having problems finding a information on the blocks them selves. I know Ford only built 2 bolt mains unless your lucky enough to have access to a Boss 351. Would I be able to get away with having around 700hp with a 2bolt main with a main girdle? Or would it just be better to suck it up and buy a 4 bolt main block from Ford?

A stock 351 block is going to be hit and miss at that power level. A buddy of mine has a '69 Mexican 351 block that is hard blocked and girdled that he is running in his '88 Mustang. He's run a best of 9.79@143 on a 200 shot and is up and around 700RWHP which is over 800 crank horsepower and he knows the block is living on borrowed time. For your power level, you'd probably be best off purchasing a 9.5 deck dart block!

Well whats the difference between a sportsman block and a 4 bolt main block? Is it just a stronger 2 bolt main with bigger webs? What are some sites i can go to check those out and maybe buy from?
