I was reading on the internet about the Diablosport PowerValve for E40D tranny. I have a gear where it feels like the tranny doesn't completely shift. It feels like a partial shift and then, a second later, it finishes the shift. The Diablo valve info. states that it will fix this problem by keeping the pressure in the tranny even thus causing the tranny to shift completely.
Is this true and is the Diablo valve a good valve to buy? Also, difficult would it be to install this valve?
I think what you are felling is the tranny shifting into gear with a unlock converter and them the converter is locking up. I its under a load it will do that.
Yes. It's under a load when it is noticable. The greater the load the more noticable.
The Diablo web page stated that the internal tranny pressure fluctuates which causes the tranny to do a partial shift and then finishes the shift when the pressure equalizes. This unequal pressure is caused by the valve that Diablo says will be fixed if I install their valve I mentioned above in my first note.
If its under load its normal for it to do that, my past 460 with the E4OD did it all the time even with a Banks Otto Mind tranny controller, in fact with the controller it was even more noticeable because the shifts were ever harder. The TR100 will also do the same thing under a hard load its programed into them.
i had the diablo valve on my 04, and it was worth every cent. Precise but smooth shifts at light throttle, firmer tighter shifts the harder you foot went down on the go pedal.
