Pulling Door Panels

Whats the best way to pull the door panels on my 75 F100. I'm afraid I'm going to crack them when I take them off. Also what size speakers to I need to buy to fit into the factory openings? 5.25"?

thanks

If I remember correctly, the speakers in the door are 6 1/2's.

The best way to remove the panel is to get a panel removal tool. The reason is that it has a large surface area to help with the stress the "old" panel will get. I've also used a flat blade screw driver...but that is risky...if you do not want to cause cracks...or break a chunk off altogether.

Good luck...

6 1/2 " are what the factory holes hold in my 77. As noted, the panel removal can be tricky. Mine were just to brittle, so even though I used a panel removal tool, I have a few broken clip tabs on the back. Once you get it off, when you reinstall you can use seal putty tape to hold a new metal clip on the part of the plastic clip tab that is still there. I want new NOS panels but they are too much $$ at this point!
Good luck!
