Just wondering if anyone knows if I can add the factory TBC to my truck. I didn't get it as an option initially, but I would prefer the "factory" look compared to one stuck elsewhere in my cab. Thanks
I think I have heard that you can, but if I am wrong, definately go with the Prodigy TBC. I think they are the next best thing. Some may disagree though.
If I am correct about the factory one, and you CAN add it in, DO IT. It is a sweet system.
Yes you can add the TBC system to your 2005-2006 truck if it did not come with one. There are complete parts kits available to add it. The kits involve a new master cylinder, a harness and the control head. Depending on what you have in the dash where the controller goes, you may need to add the storage tray or you can also add the upfitter switches if you don't have them too! Either job can be done by the do-it-yourselfer depending on your skill level of course, but the TBC system also requires an instrument cluster reconfiguration... you will need to visit the dealer for that.
If you don't go with the factory one...I had a prodigy in my Excursion before I got my new 2005 F-250 . I never had a problem with it and in my opinion it worked better than the facotry installed brake controller.
