tow/haul mode

tow/haul mode

I know chevy has a tow haul mode that needs to be manually depressed, does my 2002 250 SD V-10 have some type of auto tow/haul mode. I always tow in 3rd gear anyways but I thought I read this somewhere. Any help?

What advantage does the tow haul mode have when pulling up hill? It seems the transmission shifts perfectly fine up hill, so I use the tow/haul button when coming down steep hills to control speeds which is great for keeping the brakes from heating up.
Any thoughts?
