SuperCrew plastic bed rail removal

Team,

I'm sure this has been posted b4, but I could not find it. Is a "special tool" required to remove the plastic bed rail protectors on a 2001 F-150 SuperCrew? Or is it one of those deals where you distroy the clips and have to replace them?? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

TK

No special tool - just pull. With the one on the tailgate it has some clips down on the bottom of the edge inside the bed you have the get undone. They are push in cips if I remember correctly.

Those things are pretty much one time use - taking them off usually damages them - turns the plastic that real light grey around your clips if your lucky enough not to break them.

On the tailgate cap you can open the access cover and release the clips without damaging them.
