Well, I dont know what to do.
Theres 4 of us in the shop. One of whom is just someone i cannot stand. Everything about him. I read that pet peeve thread, and well ,lets just call this guy.....Bill (oops, thats his real name, anywho) He's about 280lbs, got quite the gut, and has no front teeth, and well doesnt brush his teeth, or shower i dont think. Its rather gross to be light about it.
My job requires a fair bit of driving as well, in SINGLE cab f-550's, So when he talks to you.. : .you get the idea. ( i couldnt find the puke smiley)
ITs just his whole personality, follows you aroun the shop, talks a bout anything and everything, doesnt get the hint when you walk AWAY from him, and eithe rdont answer him or reply with one words answers.
He used to be the delivery guy who brought us all our wellhead equip, then started with us in may.
(im not the only one who feels this way) There is more, but i will stop here.
WOndering what you guys would do in this situation? I like this job, I dont want to quit, but i get so frustrated at work now because of him.
Have a leather worker, make you a belt holder for a can of air freshener. Use it when he is around! If that doesn't work, a trick my cop B-i-l did when he got a new know it all partner. The guy claimed he was faster then my B-i-l, so my bil parked REAL close to a phone poll, and accidentally hit his pepper spray, on the way out of the vehicle. No more backtalk.
Arrange a workplace accident so he goes on compo for a long time.
Bad advice, and possiblility of illegal advice, if you were going to recommend this, you should recommend something with water and soap dumping on him.
My boss knows how i feel, also H edoesnt think hes gonna make the winter out anyway, but I dunno and i cant wait til the end of feb. But ya cant just fire somebody for nothing.
Im trying to not be a ******** to him, but im losing my control.
Im thinking of something to get him fired, heck I was there first, he can leave. Heh Ive also offered him gum and a mint here and there, he doesnt accept. Maybe cause hes missing half his teeth, im not sure.
When I was in high school, a kid who sat next to me in Drama had the worst B.O. and bad breath. He was told of this problem frequently by many classmates, but did nothing about it. One day I brought a paint respirator mask to school, (the rubber kind with two round filters) kept it in a bag next to my chair. When he sat down next to me I quickly reached in the bag and grabbed the mask, and put it on. He finally got the message.
Get yourself one to put on when he's around, or go to a surplus store and get a gas mask.

I worked with a guy years ago that had body odor and the boss took him aside and talked to him about it. He told the guy that if he didn't do something about it, he was going to fire him because all the co-workers were complaining about him.
That seemed to work for him.
It seems that we have all been in this situation at one point or another. I worked with a guy who was as nice as could be, but his breath smelled like a bag full of *********s. One day I was on a ladder and he climbed up the other side to watch what I was doing. We were face to face for about a nanosecond before my knees gave out. We used to have to drive around in a single cab S-10 in the middle of winter with his window rolled up and mine rolled down. He would always say "Roll that damn window up!" I'd tell him, "If weren't for this damn window being down I would yank the wheel into a guard rail!"
Just thinking about it makes me want to go brush my teeth. His breath was so bad you could taste it.
We had a boss like that guy (toothless)
We all chipped in and bought him a care package tooth brush tooth paste b/o juice. mints etc.- with a little note, these products need to be used a least daily.
He got the hint and all was better.
