I replaced my rotors, calipers, pads and slide pins with all new parts.I have noticed that the brakes now feel weak.I used to be able to lock up the brakes, then the ABS would kick in.
Now i cant get the brakes to lock up on a panic stop.
What can this problem be.
my guess is that you got some pads that don't work as well as the OEM pads. Each manufacturer uses different formulas to make the friction material.
Also there have been numerous posts here on FTE that nothing works as good as OEM pads.
Did you do a complete brake fluid bleed after you did the job? If not I would start there. If that doesn't do it, see above.
Are you sure you didn't get ANY air in there... If you did, The only way to bleed a 4 wheel ABS system is with a computer that can actuate the ABS module and purge the air. If you don't, well, it usually results in the situation you describe...
I dont think so but never know. When i bleed them i seen the air come out, then they stoped and i bleed them for about anther 5 minites just to make sure i got all the air out.I used two quarts of brake fluid, just to make sure i got it right.
I just thought of something else... With all the bleeding, and new parts, might you have gotten some grease or brake fluid on the pads/rotors? You can try cleaning everything with brake cleaner, but you'll probably have to replace the pads...
Sometimes the caliper pistons are a little difficult, and really require you to really step hard on the brake peddle to get them to functioning right. Have you tried that?
