Correct Plugs

I've got a 99 Sable with a 3.0 SOHC engine. It's recently started to run a little rough at idle, so I thought I might change the plugs and wires. It has 65,000mi on it and I believe they are the original plugs and wires. I pulled a couple of plugs out to see what was in there. AWSF32P. Are these the correct plugs, because I'm having a little trouble finding them? Also what is the correct gap? Thanks in advance for any help.

The plugs that are in your Sable now are correct for that application, regardless of whether it has the Double Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) "duratec" or the Overhead Valve (OHV) "vulcan" 3.0L in there.

The original plugs, however, have been superceded by the newer AGSF32FM "fine metal" plugs, which you will want to gap at .044". The new FM series plugs were specifically designed for Fords EDIS ignition system.

Thanks for the info. The two I pulled looked like they were burning clean, just the electrode was very rounded. I didn't know what the gap should be because I've never used platinum plugs b4. The two I checked were both over .070th. I guess it's time to replace them. Thanks again.
