How many of you have mirrors like these? This was factory as far as I know. The mirrors are stamped Ford at the bottom of the back side dead center. Do these mirrors have a name? I have rarely seen these and was wondering how many of y'all might have them on your truck.

Those are factory Ford mirrors, I have them on my 77 F150 Custom. I dont remember the name. The only problem I had with mine was the bracket that held the mirror head to the bar wore out and wouldnt clamp, but I cut a chunk of old garden hose about 2" long and wrapped that around the bar and covered it with electrical tape and the mirror clamped down just fine after that. Was'nt the spiffiest looking fix, but it worked and cut down on vibration.
Those mirrors are called "Swing Lock/Low Profile Stainless Mirror-Light Trucks, Econoline" Part number 17696. the description is " Virtually eliminates "blind spot" providing excellent rear and forward vision. Door mounted. Constructed of stainless steel for long life. Adjustable to desired angle, swings in for side clearance in tight places, one mirror fits either right or left hand side, Junior Western size. Fits F100/350.
T18Skyguy you da man!! They are pretty good at eliminating blind spots but make lots of wind noise because they are as aerodynamic as a brick.
FordPickup460 I had to do the same as you with the clamps. I used some flat sheet rubber like material and wrapped it around the mirror then installed the clam. Works like a charm.
Man, now I find out the tie downs that were on my truck were factory! The guy that gave me the truck pulled them off before I towed it... Seems like most places in my area stopped carrying that style of tie down. I'm going to Home Depot tomorrow, so they might have them, we'll see....
I have a set of those off the truck I am rebuilding. I personally don't like them. I can try to find where I put them if you want 'em. Real cheap, like free, pay for shipping.
my 76 f-100 came with those mirrors when it was new. they worked well for me. and was on the truck until i swapped the cab with a 78 f-250 about 10 years ago.
