you can swap any 4x4 F150-F350 parts into yours... so you could do D44ttb, D44SA D44HD, D50TTB, D60SA for the front. for the rear you are pretty unlimited! any rear axle from a fullsize will bolt in. Ford 9", Ford 8.8, 10 bolt, 12 bolt, D60, sterling 10.25/10.50, 14 bolt, D70, etc
for t-case just get you can run pretty much any ford case since they all have the same patter, 203, 205, 208, 1345, 1356,
Can some one explain thr pros/cons to the front axle. I know what the ttbs are but what are the rest. im running a 8.8", what go along with that in the front?
thanks
On the ranger if you can find a wrecked 4x4 donor truck the easier way might be to strip it down to the frame then do the same thing with your 2x4 and put the good body onto the 4x4 frame, and running gear rather than taking just the axles out that way the gear ratio's are going to be the same you won't need to make new driveshafts or cross members and fab is really not an issue nore is getting the frontend alignment right.
if this truck is a daily driver, ttb is the best choice, if you want to keep a decent ride quality. the mono-beam 44 is more durable for playing off road, plus you can get more flex with a mono-beam suspension. it's alot more work to convert from the twin i-beam to mono-beam. it's up to you, but unless you're going to do some serious off-roading, I'd stay with the independent front suspension.

no and not even! ttb is not the best choice for a DD b/c it will wear the snot out of your tires. TTB is notorious for stripping the outside tread down to nothing and leaving the inside looking funny
also it is EASY... wait did i say it right EASY to swap from ttb to solid axle, even if you are converting from coils to leafs or vice versa!
