my datuter locked up my 4.2 in my 98 f150 iI,m just wondering if this is a prolbem
with this engine ? I have not done anything yet not sure whitch way to go.
she tried to start it an it spin twice them locked.Ithought may it was stater but
tried to kick it off wheels would not turn.
I assume the starter is engaging and trying to turn the motor over, but for some reason, the motor will not turn over.
If this is the case, I'd remove all the spark plugs and see if the engine will turn over. If it will, look for liquid that might be blown out of one (or more) of the empty plug holes.
If all this occurs, then it sounds like the engine was hydro-locked: a liquid (likely coolant) leaked into one or more cylinders (likely bad lower intake manifold gasket) and caused the engine to "lock up" (liquids will not compress like air/fuel mixture will.)
Give it a shot and get back in touch.
no water in cyl took out plugs still will not turn .anychance it just bent a push rod
or valve ? or more lickley junk. thanks in advance for all your help.
