I have a 2005 ford f150 screw xlt 5.4lv8 2wd and I want exhaust that's loud like it turns heads and when you crank it up you hear a nice rumble and even just taking off very gently with windows up you can hear it.. what would be my best bet for exhaust to closest meet what I'm looking at .. TIA
2.5" to 3" duals no cats and 40 series flowmasters will get you there. If you want to set off car alarms get 10 series flowmasters instead of the 40's.
Found the flowmaster 10 series butt hey don't have a dual out one... and what would a 10 series sound like if I didn't cut the cats off would it still be louder than the 40 series with cats??
It cost me $380 for the system I described above with the 40 series. Technically it is illegal but since there is no emissions testing where you live, who cares. The stock cats will quiet it down a good bit, so if you realy want to run cats you can gut the stockers or get high flow cats. They don't make a dual out 10 series but you shouldn't need the dual out, if your gonna run true duals all the way back you need two mufflers.
So if I didn't cut the stock cats off and had 2 10 series mufflers would it come about 95% of what I want? I need to find out if the local muffler shop will take them bend piping and weld it on! thanks!
Dont put 2 mufflers after the cats. If you want dual looks, get one muffler and Y-pipe it into duals out the back. What I would do is take off the muffler first. Listen to the truck without a muffler. If you dont think its loud, take off cats or replace with hi-flows.
