Will a bad IAC cause a code 41 ?
I get a noise like a new years noisemaker sometime when I let up on the throttle and touch the brake. Searching tells me that the noise is the IAC.

Does it happen only when you let up on the throttle, or do you also have to press the brakes? If you only hear the sound when you apply the brakes, then I wouldn't think it's the IAC. If what you are hearing is a kind of "woomp" sound, then I would suspect a sticky caliper or something like that.

It ddn't happen to start on New Year's eve did it? Might be a partygoer under there! 
Seriously, sounds like the disc brake pads to me. They can chatter and squeal, but could also be very worn and busily taking out your rotor.
Code 41 might refer to a lean gas mixture.
