Where can I find a manual fuel tank selector valve for my F250 camper special? Mine is frozen and leaks. Its the one that is mounted next to the seat. LMC trucks doesn't have one nor do any of the auto parts places. I am sure they are still out there as this was common valve on trucks and bronco with 2 tanks.
I was looking for a manual valve also for a 3 tank system last year, only place that had valves was a camper motorhome supply and they are electric for 2 tank. I ran for months on the main then got lucky on a 3 tank valve at "Pick-N-Pull" and it dosen't leak.

They do not make a 3 tank electric valve only 2 tank. In energized mode fuel flows from one tank, deenergized the other tank on a 2 tank valve. Should the valve not energize you'll run out of gas with the other tank full, not a good feature as well i'll have to run two valves in line to handle 3 tanks, a(mickey mouse crap) set up.

Sorry Beamer, I should have made it clear that I was answering F250Dave. Your 3 tank setup holds more gas than I can afford to buy at any one time. Electric valve hooked to my fuel sellector switch works well for my factory two tank setup.
Also, I aways intended to add an electric fuel pump with a pushbutton control - sort of like the "prime" pump on the big trucks. Might save that sinking feeling you get when you run out of gas in one tank and switch to the other while in heavy traffic.
What gas bill? I put in 49.55 gallons a few days ago $2.98.9 for regular for a little sum of $148.11. Left with change from $160 and got a burger and coke.
I feel better now that i'm broke again.

I had gone to napa auto parts and asked the guy for this valve, I have a 67 F250 CS He went to the ford dealer here in Morgan Utah they gave him one just like my original one. Thirty dollars.
My '72 used to have the 3 tank manual valve, but when I pulled the cab tank, I pulled the selector too and changed to a 2 tank electric. Bought it at Autozone for about $ 20 bucks, and it was a very easy change. Nice to have the switch on the dash, and not have to break knuckles trying to change tanks with your hand under the seat. But since i have pulled both saddles too, and just went with a 55 gal fuel and tool box in the bed. Kind of funny watching the smog guy make about 3 trips around my truck trying to find the fuel filler. (Got rid of the one on the drivers cab side). Never did like that big ugly thing sticking out.
Today while at the marine supply store (West Marine) I ran cross a manual brass three way valve, two in one out made of brass marine grade. Looked like it would be a direct replacement fit in the floor by the door, it had 1/4" NPT for $27. Heck if safe enough for boats must be good enough for trucks.
As I stated before should the electric valve fail you'll be out of fuel with the tank full.

Anyone know if you can replace the 67-72 HVAC controls with those from a '73-up? I'm just asking because it'd be pretty cool to have the factory electric fuel tank selector.
yea, and if the engine swallows a valve you will be stuck on the side of the road!
So what, mechanical failures happen - and when they do you fix the problem. If I was stuck on the side of the road with a non-op valve, I would move the gas line to the part of the valve that passed gas.
Speaking of, how they hanging? Why you so worried about an electrical failure?
WillyB, if it's me your talking about we have 5 diesel 1 ton trucks from 89 to 96 and have gone thru 9 electric valves. Should the engerized valve fail and the deenergized tank be full you lucky but the opposite and you park it with a full tank. Many times we had to tow our company (Ford) trucks, manual valves tank you.

It's hard to imagine how most the crew can even find there way home not alone switching fuel lines. To be safe I would think you would want to run on the tank that has the valve energized first, should it fail your on the other full tank. Life isn't so tough I can't operate a manual valve.
