I just finished installing my ww and I have a bad leak coming from the manifold Y pipe everything seems good the clamp is tight and I left everything loose during tightening so what is the problem
troubledsol I have the wheel on order. Anything you could let me know about the install to make it easier. I was going to try to install with the turbo on the truck
I would highly suggest NOT removing the turbo at this point I have been working on this thing since 2 pm everything was together but I have a bad exhaust leak it is at the v band on the back of the turbo there is a 1/8 inch gap found this after complete disassembly bolt from turbo to craddle are loose downpipe is off and the thing just does not line up trying to loosen the flanges at the manifold and y pipe to see if it frees up this sucks
I have seen two versions of the Wicked Wheel and/or Superior Wheel installation instructions. Which is easier leaving the turbo on or taking it off, I ask this due to my own turbo surge problem.
Well, you narrowed the decision making process. By the looks of it leaving to turbo on would be easier. I'm no expert, so I figured the less I have to take off my mule the less chance I have of putting it back on wrong.LOL I think black cloud has the "turbo on" instructions right? Or do you have an even better link?
I just spent the last half hour searching with no results.
Wife is complaining so I have to hurry.
Get a 1/4 inch 12 point socket set with a swivel attachment so you can get at the bottom bolts. Then the job is do-able. You must remove the downpipe to hold the exhaust wheel in place or the whole assembly will spin and you'll never get the intake wheel off. Use a padded screwdriver to hold the exhaust wheel.
Just like RAMPAGE_F350 said thanks Kwik. I know which way O'm going now on the install. Ill try to follow BC DIESEL instructions. The wheel is not in yet I will keep you posted after the installation.
Kudos to HeatStroked for this writeup.
It details removing the turbo from the truck, but you don't have to. It has some very useful pictures and tips for all that have never done this before. https://www.ford-trucks.com/article/...tallation.html
