Here's one for you. Working on a 1987 F250 4wd w/a 302 EFI system.
Dual tank in cab switch when switched to the front tank goes to E (when tank is full) and truck will die because of no fuel. Switch it to back tank and everythings fine. Another little swist. Turn wipers on and the truck will die. turn wipers off and they want to stay on but move very slow (does this with wipers on or off). No head lights but has blinkers.

what ya think?

as far as the tank selector valve goes, i would say that just replace it, my was like 15 dollars but with efi it might be more. other than that it sounds like you got a short somewhere and are going to have a heck of a time trying to find it...just get a wiring schematic and start and one end and work your way to the other, i would sugjesty starting at the wiper switch and trace out any shorts there, then move to the ignition switch. then to the head light relay and so on until you find the short or shorts and fix them. good luck.
