Smile ASPCA looking for volunteers

Folks, I talked to my wife this morning and she was telling me that the ASPCA is looking for volunteers to provide "foster care" for pets from the gulf region.

She wanted to know if I would mind if she did it and I told her of course I wouldn't mind, I think it's great. We have 2 dogs at home, so it's not like we don't have pet stuff and the room for them.

Some of the owners of these pets simply cannot take them into the shelters with them and they need a place to go. Here is the site to volunteer this and other services with the ASPCA.

http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer...cane_volunteer

Thanks

If I had more room here at my house, I'd help out with housing some of those animals myself, cant help it, I just LOVE dogs for some reason, and they all love me. I just wish I could afford to feed em and house em for people to help them out.

Well, I put my name in, but my problem is not having funds for fuel to get there. I can get a stock trailer, horse trailer, or just run a van to transport the small animals. I have many small animal crates available as well. If they can cover my expenses, I can run whatever they need.
I can also take in a few critters here, one of the benefits of being in the country, and may be able to find more homes as I know others who can maybe take some as well.

My wife is getting some of the folks she works with involved with it as well. I just figured I post up the link in case anybody was looking for a way to help out. Besides, I'm a sucker for a good dog and don't mind taking care of one or two for a while.

My house is full of rescued critters.
I have 6 dogs rescued, love my dogs.
8 cats rescued.
Have my mother/father/sister in-laws and 3 nephews rescued.
So I'm pretty well all
Well, the cats are outside.
Sorry, I'd love to......but I'm all full up.

Cattle on the other hand...might posibly be able to house a hundred or two.
But those critters can easily find room to graze closer than me......500 miles away.

Like I said, just wanted to post up the link in case anybody was looking for a way to help out. I know there are lots of folks here that consider their pets family too. It would kill me to know my buddy was locked in a cage or, worse yet, abandoned.

Again, here's the link.

Oh yea, for sure. My wife is convinced I love my dog more than her......
I just kinda shuffle away, cause she might be right.
It kills me that there are critters out there suffering. Families tortured by the very unkowns of thier loved pets.
I wish I could make it all better...... but I cant.
For those that can help.....god bless.

My fiancee is going to kill me but I signed up for at 2 maybe 3 cats. My cat got out the other day and it almost killed me, I hate for anything to happen to him. So I know how they must feel down there. The only thing is I can't go down there to get them so I don't know if I'll be considered, but hey anything could happen.

I'm sure they have people running the animals all over the place to other SPCA chapters and even your local one is probably getting full if you're anywhere near the area.

Never know. All you can do is volunteer what you can. I'm sure folks will appreciate it.
