Adding Tweeters.

I was thinking of puttin some tweeters in my truck. Since the HU has output for 4 speakers and all my 4 speakers are hooked up, can I add tweeters without introducing an amp to the system? If so, how? Thanks

Do you have a crossover? If you want to add tweets, you'll have to have a way to keep them away from lower frequencies. I think you should be able to just wire them in with your stock HU.

I can filter out the lows from within the HU. The way I was thinkin is to just splice them in with the front speakers, but that sounds kind of ghetto riggin..or is that an ok way?

I'm talking about around 200mHz, and even higher. The HU can't filter those out from the tweets. It sounds ghetto that way, but why don't you just step up to a component set?

the tweeter should come with a crossover, just wire it in parallel with the front stage speakers.

you can also get "bassblockers" a little piece you wire onto the + side, it will cut out frequencies to what ever its rated at. Ive got them in mine and they work great and all for $10 cdn.
