has anyone had problems or troubles with 2003 f-250 SD 4X4 AT 6.0 engines-transmission,etc. if so what problems and fixes were performed? thank you for your time and info.
Welcome to the FTE Are you looking to purchase an 03 or do you have questions about your own truck? If you are looking to purchase, obtain an Oasis service report so that you can review what type of issues the vehicle may have experienced. IMO Just like any first year run of an engine & tranny combo there were a few bugs and new training for the technicians- But there are a lot of great 03 6.0 trucks out there... I've got one in my driveway
Are you having any problems or are you wondering what should be checked out before the 3/36 warranty expires?
There are some common issues which seem to be easily remedied by most dealers.
both. have had into 3 different dealers locally and is going in next month for some problems and issues. as far as warranty it has 18500 on it and a 6 yr./75000 extended.
Tell us about any problems that haven't been resolved- There are several 6.0 Technicians which are active FTE members in addition to others with a lot "6.0 experience" which can help you address specific problems. Also, there are quite a few FTE folks from your area which may be able to recommend a good dealership for service.
thanks-this is great. i will post problems later-hope i can get info to help solve them at this next visit to dealer. thanks again-i will have list in next day or two.
One problem is the High Pressure Oil Pump going out. It will cause a No Start Condition. If this happens spray a COUPLE squarts of starting fluid in and it will crank for 10 secs then start right up. This is NOT a fix but will maybe get you home. Im Finishing one up tomorrow, and have 3 more in line. There really not "hard" to replace, its just getting to everything... IRP's go out on them just like anyother 6.0 thats out there.

I really hope you are unplugging the GPCM before you start spraying starter fluid....
