I'm using one in my 78. It's a hydroboost and master cylinder from a 2002? Superduty diesel. I had to have custom hoses made and do some mods to the push rod to make it fit as well as the mounting plate. You may or may not have to do that for the newer Bronco. There are companies that sell complete kits made to bolt right in but I'm cheap. If you have any specific questions just let me know and I'll try to answer.
One more thing I just thought of, I did have to change one of the fittings on the metal brake line to fit my booster. It cost $1 for the fitting and then the flaring tool to make it happen.
Ivan, I like your idea for your brake booster. Did you have to do that to get the big valve covers to fit? The reason I ask is that after pulling the front clip off my 76 2wd. with a 390, It looks like it will be really tight to get my 460 in there. I think I stand a chance with stock valve covers but with those svo covers I dont think it will fit. Or will it? Any help would be appreciated
Sorry I didn't see this post before. Yes, you will need to change boosters if you want to run a tall valve cover (like for clearing roller rockers or stud girdles). Another option besides the hydroboost is to switch to the F350 vacuum booster which is smaller in diameter but deeper. It's still a tight fit for removal or installation of the valve covers but you can do it with either of these 2 boosters. You cannot make it work with an F250 booster unless you have a body lift or just pull the booster/MC assembly each time you want to pull that valve cover. If you use a stock valve cover it's not an issue.
Thanks Ivan, I just got my L and L mounts yesterday and put the 460 in this morning. I will have to get up to the parts store and get one of them 1 ton boosters. I sure like those L and L mounts. They sure a lot beefier than those stamped originals. thanks again, Jamie
