shuts off

Hi:
This is my first time so I hope I'm on the right page. I have a 1988 Eddie Bauer Bronco. 88,000 miles. Some times when I drive on the freeway the truck shuts off. All the lights come on in the dash. I pull off the road and restart the truck and it runs a mile or so and does it again. Anyone have any ideas where to start. 302 auto with overdrive four wheel drive. Its been put on a computer with no help.

Fred in central Pa.
