I bought a 1990 Ford Bronco II about six months ago, and thus far it has been great and very reliable (well, ever since I had to replace the alternator and drive shaft right after I first bought it anyway). I any case, I noticed a couple of days ago that it would sort of stop accelerating for a second repeatedly when I would first start driving it. It has gone completely downhill from there, as now it will accelerate, but only very slowly, and it has a HUGE problem going uphill. I just started at a new school where I have to drive up a pretty big hill over a long distance every day. I am wondering if this was just the straw that broke the camels back for an underlying problem that has been around for a while or something? Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be and the cost of repair (the last thing I need is a HUGE repair bill). I was thinking maybe it has something to do with the accelerator pump? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would get the codes pulled.See if you got any probpems there. But first check your fuel pressurs, make sure your FPR is working.and put a new fuel filter on it. Also check the timing.Just some things to check.
When was the last time the truck was tuned up?
I would start with a fuel filter and make sure your fuel pressure is good around 40 psi and make sure your FPR{fuel presuer regulater}is workong right.
