ford taurus front springs

my wife's '93 taurus has somehow broken a front coil spring on the l.h. side and has a noticeable lean to it. looks like it fractured near the bottom by the coil bucket. anyone have this happen? only have 65,000 miles on this car. wonder if i can get the spring itself without having to buy the whole strut assy? guess i call around and find out. ive seen broken leaf springs before but ive never seen a coil break.

Ford car coils in that era had problems, especially the Escorts. You can replace just the coils, but since everything has to be taken apart, you might as well spend the extra dollars and replace both the struts and upper support bushings. Those get packed full of sand and salt, then go out making the car hard to steer and throwing the alignment off.
