I don't understand?

I have to take my truck in to the dealer tomorrow and I didn't want them to know about my tuner, so I got an old power cord from a lamp, cut the female end off, plugged it in to an extension cord, then stuck the two ends in the diagnostic port in my truck. There was a spark, a funny smell, and now my truck won't start. Maybe I did it wrong? Should I try it again? Is there a reset button for my truck to get it to start?

Here's my 2.5 cents worth.I just bought my 2003 6.0 about 3.5 months ago and the first thing I did was get the Diablo Predator for my truck.I have run it in 65 and 100hp modes and haven't had any coolant problems with it,but I did sale it and am getting the new Edge juice Platinum so I can monitor my exhaust gas temps among other things.I liked to run my truck in 100hp mode, but got tired of having to reprogram it to tow my race trailer.
I wanted the luxury of pushing a button and adjusting on the fly my hp. settings. That being said I totally loved my Predator and NEVER had any problems what so ever EXCEPT keeping my foot out of it.

It's irratating because you see about 50 emails per day that are spam or viruses etc with that title. Notice how many replies he got after he edited the title. Point proven. I meant he must be salesman because that is a tactic a salesman would use. Anything to get them in the door and read/see what they have to sell etc. Not a big deal... Glad he got some help.

Me, too. You're right about the spammers etc. Didn't think of that 'cause spammers don't enter my thought process here at FTE. Good point though.

There are a lot of people engaged in the sales / marketing professions here, at FTE, that might have thought there was a slight in those comments though. I for one did not.

It's that written word thing. Trying to be more careful in my interpretations...if you know what I mean?

Wow, this is scary... 120vac to a 12vdc system. Mmmm.... the smell of crispy diodes, transistors, IC chips and resisistors is coming back to me now. I just use my stick welder with the generator when I do this. It's easier that way...
