i have an 87 bronco ii. when it is cold it runs great, when it gets to operating temp it loses a lot of power,does not miss,no smoke,just loses power and taps.i need to know the location of the eec test plug and how to run a test.fuel filters are new.once in awhile this thing taps but when it is loses power the tapping is much more noticable. ANY IDEAS AND INPUT WOULD BE GREAT . THANX
if you say your engine starts tapping after reaching operational temperature - it's the hydraulic valve lifters. Usually it happens because of low oil pressure due to engine wear
Check the oil pressure - you'll be amazed
