This is a 2000 4.0 4wd ranger. Started it this morning and it stumbled a few times at idle at initial startup runnning smooth as it warmed up. After driving 2 miles I noticed a check engine light. Pulled the codes and they read a lean condition in Bank 1 and Bank 2. Truck has 84,000 miles. I know it needs new wires and plugs. Any suggestions before throwing parts at it.
A Lean condition useally means a vac leak and the 4.0l's have a habit of leaking around the intake manafold. Make sure the intake bolts are tight and maybe think about a new gasket.

so I cleared the code to see if it would come back. All looks good so far. I plan to clean the MAF and test the O2 this weekend. We shall see how it turns out.
