Code says running lean

Code says running lean
This is a 2000 4.0 4wd ranger. Started it this morning and it stumbled a few times at idle at initial startup runnning smooth as it warmed up. After driving 2 miles I noticed a check engine light. Pulled the codes and they read a lean condition in Bank 1 and Bank 2. Truck has 84,000 miles. I know it needs new wires and plugs. Any suggestions before throwing parts at it.

more information now
Check for a vacuum leak in the intake system. No leaks. Steady 22 lbs/inch at idel with appropriate throttle response.
Codes pulled are:
P0171 System to lean (Bank 1)
P0174 System to lean (Bank 2)
I am leaning towards the hot O2 sensor or the MAF as the problem. Any suggestions.

If you aren't leaving out anything in terms of important details about your findings, you got lucky in your fix and guess.
