turn the key to on and listen for the glow plug system to operate. you should hear clicking after the light goes out. if still hard starting, try using the block heater for 2 hours before starting.
if fuel is the problem:
have someone work the key on and off while you are in front of the truck with hood open. the injection pump should click on and off with the key. once you determine the switch is working, loosen all the injection lines on the top of the injectors and have someone crank the engine over for short period. lots of fuel should be evident at the loosened lines. if not, the on/off internally to the pump is bad. hope this helps. any problems, let us know. out
