Dynosource chip??

Looking under the dash of my 98 F150 I noticed a plastic cover on the ECM that said Dynosource with a little dinosaur character on it. Underneath looked like a chip.

Never new it was there and had been using 87 octane all along.

How do Ford computers work?? Can I pull the chip and will it go back to stock or do I need to replace it with a stock chip??

I'd like to pull it to get more info on it then put it back in after knowing what fuel I should run etc.

Can't tell you anything about the chip, only the company that programmed it can tell you what it's programmed for.

How do Ford computers work.... volumes can be written about that. It would take hours just to post a brief overview!

There is no stock chip, you can pull it and the computer will revert to the internal ROM.

Might try it to see how it runs without it. Maybe better mileage?? I never used premium fuel and never want to. $3/gal is enough.

How do I remove the chip?? Just pull it straight out or is there a locking clip etc??

Make sure the key isn't in the ignition and just pull it straight out.
