I too have been a Clancy fanatic (books, movies, vidya games), but have kind of lost interest in the last couple years or so.
If you don't mind a little foul language, go to Yahoo or Google and search for "tom clancy plot generator" and click on the first result you get. Pretty funny.
The other day when I was out, I picked up Men in Blue by W.E.B. Griffin. I'm almost done with it, it is a really good read. I think I'm going to continue on in this series for a few more books, it's nice to read something different for a while. After a while, all those Cold War/WWIII/Terrorism books get a little old.

That is a great read, and the others in the series get better, in my opinion.
Shogun - James Clavell. Great book, but the only one of his that I found readable. By the time I was through with Shogun, I thought I could speak Japanese.

I thought it was good, and I really enjoyed Whirlwind. Both were loooong books, though.
Whether I'm reading one of newer novels or re-reading one of his classics. All of then get my complete attention to the end. I've been known to stay up all night to finish a book because by the time I got half way through I just could'nt put it down. I like the Jack Ryan character but not to sure on the Jack jr series yet. But I do that to Web's books and dare I say, Clive Cussler...lol
