I had my usual great time on the first weekend in Sept. The hunting sucked (not many birds), but that didn't really matter. We hunted morning and late afternoon, fished a couple of the ponds, rode the 4-wheelers over miles of rough country and burned a lot of gunpowder target shooting the assortment of guns that had been brought. We mixed up some Tannerite, a binary explosive that will explode with lots of power when hit with a high powered rifle, and literally had a blast. We had my Baretta NOS pistol and my son's Browning for .22's, there was a Mini 14, we hit the Tannerite with a Ruger .280 and there was a .17 rifle with a big Nikon scope that was fun to shoot. Sausage and scrambled eggs wrapped with cheese and sauce in a soft tortilla for breakfast, cheeseburgers and fries for lunch, grilled steaks for supper. I am convinced that hunting is not just about the game, but hanging out with people you enjoy being with, doing what you like to do. I hope your hunting is enjoyable as mine.

Amen!!!!
I am also quite certain that 'the social atmosphere' is 80-90% of the experience!!!
(Doves are some fast little rockets, aren't they?)
Fall (well, hunting season). . . . a GREAT time of the year!
Ont thing I forgot to mention, one of the guys had set up a camera triggered by a motion detector at his deer stand. We hooked it to the TV and saw numerous deer, hogs and 1 Roadrunner. One big hog put his snout up against the camera and all you could see was nostrils and eyes.
