I dont think the exauhst would work as a good air induction sysytem, the CO2 would make it hard for the spark plug to ignite all of the gasses. Im going to use one of the fans they use to dry carpet and install it through my hood, then I can have an airdamn and a blower, yeah thats the ticket
Haven't had a turbo on a bird since 88. What article did you read? That thing will NOT put out 24lbs. of boost. Go over to www.tccoa.com (late model thunderbird and cougar website) and tell them what you saw in a article. That picture was on the site about 2-3 months ago. It is a JOKE. It will not work.
LAST EDITED ON 29-May-01 AT 07:29 PM (EST)[p]Yeah, me too. The sad part about it is, I had actually dreamed up a setup like that! But not using a leaf blower. I was wanting to find a t-bird, and rob the blower off of it instead.
Really what I'd love to lay my hands on, would be a supercharged t-bird, ya'll know the ones I'm talking about! Not the newer model ones. But the 50's model t-birds. Talk about something that would get up & move!

Hotrod, Just had somebody catch me on another site and only because I have two opal frost pearl mustangs and one is wrecked LOL so I posted pictures of both cars under wrecked the stang post. they sure look good together the wrecked one is at the body shop now I'm not going to do the whole thing myself this time I don't have enough time before the show in Del. so I have to get help. John
I know the feeling, I tried using some of that STP Foaming engine cleaner today. Ha! The engine looks nastier now than it did before. Granted it did remoev this monster blob of dirt/oil mix, but other than that, it left this nasty residue all over my valve covers, and just everywhere.
Now I have to really get it cleaned before the 17th. I'll have to get in there and figure out how to get that mess off of there, and then finish cleaning everything else again.
It just never ends for people who show their vehicles does it?

Be careful washing the dirt clods, mud *****, and grease wads off of your engines now. When I put the 390 in my 78 F150 back when I was in High school I thought I would be slick and do that too. Turns out all that crap was doing most of the job of keeping the oil in. Just do like a guy did at the last car show I was at. Paint over it!! lol. dead serious folks.lol.
Brad, I had the same thing happen to me with some of the equipement at work. We normally fire up the pressure washer this time of year and give everything a good spring cleaning. This can cause nothing but problems sometimes. Not only can it happen to engines, but the same can be true with hydraulic components. Besides the the grease globs keeping an engine from leaking, I have found that a wash solution can sometimes dry out seals. Normally olders seals are the ones that show these problems after a good washing. We like to keep our equipement on the cleaner side of the coin but it can be a real slap in the face when something starts leaking and slops up what was just cleaned.
Back when I first started showing the 66 mustang I had, I almost did exactly that. I started to prime the block, while it was sitting in the barn. Well, I thought about it for a minute, and then started striping off the goo that was all over the front of the block. I had to excavate the oil pressure sender, you couldn't even see it there was so much crud.
But I do it all differently now. This next week I'm going to pull off the alternator, and all of the other accessories so I can repaint the block, heads & intake. Hopefully this will all go the way I plan because I have to leave the engine in the truck!
Then I have to sand blast & repaint all of the pulleys, brakcets, and exhaust manifolds before they get put back on. Hopefully it will look much better than when I bought the truck. Talk about nasty!
