Went junking....found an 77 CrewCab! It is an 1977 F-250 Custom Trailer Special. Brown with tan interior. The VIN says it's a 4x4, but it is sitting on a 2wd. (no hubs in front) It's 100% solid. It was once brown, now painted red. Interior is in good shape, except with the junk in them. It looks like it has been sitting outside for years. The dash has cracks and there are old beehives all over the truck.
I am going back tomorrow to raid the doors, panels, and a few other things.
In this state, buying vehicles from junkyards isn't allowed. Once you junk a vehicle, the title is turned in to the state, becoming state property. Then are to be destoryed.
Noticed you live in the same state as I do, hillbilly!
I am trying to get the rear doors, I have no idea how to remove them. The crewcab is sitting on top of a Dodge van, so you can imagine how diffcult it would to get the doors.
Found it had bondo on cab corners.....oh well.
So far I got the all of the four door panels, crewcab emeblems, and odd stuff.
If its still their get the trim strip that is in the middle of the headliner. Be carful removing it though they break easly. It should pull stright down. Their hard to find. Leadmic
the rear doors are easy to get off, there are 3 bolts for each hinge behind the door panels, I think they are 9/16. the hing stays on the truck, easier to remove this way, then for the hinge, there are a few bolts on the body for them, I have not removed the hinges, but have changed doors, they are not fun to line up either, how are the doors, I could use a set, I have decent ones, but am lookin for a real nice set. also, how much for the rear doors. where are you in maryland, I am in churchville, I got a 79 bronco also, gettin a 6 inch lift right now and a built 400. I got a good cap if you need one, might even have a 3 inch lift, to get rid of, they look good lifted.
another thing, some junkyards in md will let you buy whole vehicles, some are strict though, at one yard I go to, I have bought 2 complete trucks from him, 1 without a title, he will sell to anyone. I tried to get a bronco from a yard in baltimore county, and they would not sell it, but would sell it to someone in virginia I think it was, theya are real weird, depends on the yard. where was this crewcab at and how was the bed
