Top Dead Center??
I'm changing out the timing belt on my 96 2.3L Ranger. All plugs are removed, old belt is off.
I figured this would be pretty easy because the timing marks are clearly evident on each pulley.
I'm new to this, so I just wanted to make sure that 'top dead center' on the camshaft is not a 'seated' position. I expected the thing to spring into a seated spot and land with the arrows lined up.
I really hope that tdc is NOT a seated position, and that it's somewhere in between, because if it IS, then the mark is off on the inner timing belt cover.
Just wanted to check before I take these little marks as absolute and definate positions.
THANKS!
Chuck.
