302 casting #s
Hello, first off I'm a new member and have been watching alot of the post on here and I have to say there is a lot of knowledge spread out here, great board. My question is when I bought my 79 f100 it had what seems to be a new 302 longblock. They had everything leaking, timing was way out etc. I did chnge the rear main which was a 1 piece for a early 80's model, but they had the 79 balancer and I presume the79 flexplate. I have a rough idle due to the balancing of the crank. I changed the balancer to an '84 and grinded the weight off of the flexplate, figured it would help (wrong). Were can I locate the casting #s on the block to match up the balancer and flexplate? thanx Dan

Probably a D7AE-6510-C number
The Actual *Date cast code* should be near there too.
