Myself, I would stay away from the centrifugal types. They need too many RPMs to produce good boost. I am going to s/c my 05 Mustang and am going with a Saleen twin screw with intercooler. I am using theirs because of there partnership with Ford and I may be able to get warranty coverage if anything goes wrong, since some dealers actually sell the car with a s/c. That being said I would go with the Roush.

Well I never heard any bad comments about any of those three SC you are talking about, and all are reliable. And the power gains for the roush is 112 HP 137 TQ added to the rear wheels. Vortech is 429 HP 473 TQ to the rear wheels, those are the two that im looking at. I'm leaning towards the vortech because all the stuff you can do to it, like bigger boost upgrade, and you can also add a blow-off valve.

73mach1, How is the Roush, does it improve the truck a lot, is there a big difference, are you hauling *** now? Does it affect your gas mileage? Would I be disappointed with performance? I would love to put one on my truck.

Take Care,

Dave

the s/c is great but not a lot of improvement took it to the 1/4mi track with superchip i ran a 16.4 with the s/c i ran a 15.8 every time but i have a tune coming this thursday then ill be able to put it on the dyno. then when it cools down a little ill take it back to the track its just to hot right now for good power. cant tell you about the gas mpg yet last friday was the frist time ive filled it up been keeping it low for the track i have the 35.7 gal tank no need to carry all that x- weight. it is a lot of money for such a small gain but im going to hold off till i get the tune this week then ill let you know what i think but at this point i would say its been a lot of fun people love to look at it im in a 4x4 sc so a4x2 would be a lot better roush has a intercooler coming out soon id wait for that one some other brands make a little more power but with the roush my factory warranty is still in full affect can the other s/cs say that? oh and it will smoke the tires the first time i really got on it it was smoking well after it went in to 2nd tell i let off. night and day difference

Hey Mach - Is there any way you could take some sound clips of your truck for me? I've got a Roush on order, but I am wondering how loud it will be in normal driving.

Man that would be a huge help. If you could do starting from 0 and normally acc to 50 or so, the 0 to 50 WOT, and cruising when rpm's around 2000+, etc.

I can't believe it's so hard to find sound clips of this... Basically I'm just trying to figure out if it will be annoying (to me). I have a magnaflow with an airraid and this is just about the loudest I want. Do you have an aftermarket exhaust?

Thanks again for your help!

Do you have a digital video camera? If so, you should be able to downlaod the movie to a file on your computer, then e-mail the file(s) to me at:

chrism@kfoc.net

If you don't have a digital camera, then let me know and we'll go to plan B.

So at WOT, do you hear your exhaust over the whine, or the whine over the exhaust?
