I am changing the fluids from front to back on my newly aquired truck. 1989 F350 4X4 5 speed O/D dually.
From years of experience, I have learned to open the fill port to make sure I can add fluids before draining any. When I opened the "fill" plug about 2 quarts (seemed like 2 gallons) poured on to the floor, me and into the oil pan.
Having said that, is there any advantage to overfilling the transmission through the shifter?
Thanks,
