Drive Train Noice
Hello everyone, this morning driving to work in my 2005 F150 4x4, cruising at about 40 mph the truck suddenley went into what seemed like a grinding from the drive train for about 40 feet. I wasn't braking at the time. It stopped as fast as it started. It did it one more time about 10 minutes later. I drove for another 30 minutes after, and of course nothing. I stopped at my dealer, but because it had stopped, we were left scratching our heads. Any ideas out there. Dale.

Hi Tim, thanks for the reply. As of now I've taken my truck back to dealer. They are looking at the possibility that it could have something to do with the emergancy brakes. They are seperate from the rear discs. They have in the past come accross the emergency brake system be applied by it self when driving. The problem did it again when I was out for lunch. Wow thought something for sure was going to give. The noise was so loud that people on the street were looking at me in disbelief that a noise like that was coming from my truck. After that I drove it right to the dealer. I guess we'll know something soon. Regards, Dale.
