Anyone painted their headlights black ala Harley Davidson edition?

I have a black truck, and hate the chrome headlights. The lincoln LS has the same, and looks better for it, in any color. Curious what this'd look like on a black lariat w/ chrome bumper and grille.

I guess my only other question, is should I use flat paint or gloss?

Hey Central coaster you can find a pair of dark headlights for your truck at Stylingconcepts.com for around 450 a pair. I dig them too btw.

Take Care,

Dave

from everything that I have been able to find out the lens is sealed from the factory, I have read a post somewhere either on here or on one of the other forums of ppl removing the lens by baking it in oven (no joke) to release the sealent and then painting the inside of the headlights and then resealing it. or you can find several different ones on ebay or online

I will have a set for sale tomorrow if my truck sells. I had them on for just a short period of time and they looked awesome.

These are all over ebay (knockoffs), search for black F150 headlights. Two versions are out now, one with an orange reflector, and one with a clear reflector (corner light). The orange reflector pair is made by DEPO, an aftermarket lighting company. I have them. Many of us over on the other F150 forum had bought them, and they seem to be holding up well. a few people had some minor moisture issues. I don't anyone that has bought the other pair w/clear reflectors, so I can't vouch for their quality.

For those that have bought the black ones from eBay, how are they holding up? Any problems to report? Trying to decide between going for the DEPO ones on eBay or waiting for the release of the Harley Edition to order Ford OEM ones (realizing they'll be more expensive)

dont have any myself but depo makes a lot of lights. some of the bmw guys i know brought them while i went the oem route like i always do but they 3-400 difference is a lot. anyways when they got their lights they just used a heat gun to open them up and then resealed everything back together themselves because we've heard some depo lights let in some water, there was also something about some of the fittings being brittle after time; not sure if any offroading could break them after a season of the lights sitting in the sun. if its easy to replace i would get depos. but to do my car i had to pull the bumper and half of everything in the front end thats why i went oem so they would last me a good decade or so.
