Lund Visor
Lund Visor
I recently bought one of those Lund Visors that extends out from the front of your cab. I bought it off a guy who didnt have any of the mounting materials. Can anyone tell me what kind of bolt, screw, etc and the size I should use to mount this to my bronco, any help would be appreciated.
I think that mine has like a 3/8 sheet metal screws, not real sure, it was on the truck when I got it. You chould pull the head liner and use bolts with a nut on the inside. Biggest thing is to get it sealed good. Use what ever fits the hole in the visor. I have the visor and a flared up bug shield on my 80 Bronco, with the two working in the wind the winshield washer will not work above 30mph and the wipers want to come up off the glass above 65mph.
I too have a Lund visor and I used to have a bug shield on there, and the driver's side windshield wiper wants to fly off of the truck at highway speeds, a couple of times it actually lifted up and out and got hung up on something up there, I don't quite know what it hung on as it did come back down.
My bug shield broke in a car wash and so far I have not put another one on, so I am not sure if it will still do this.
Also, if there is a strong wind hitting the truck at certain angles, it can make for annoying wind noise at highway speeds. It does not always do it though. It's strange. It seems to depend on the wind speed and where the wind is coming from in relation to what direction you are driving.
I love the visor though - I like how it looks and I like how it makes the truck feel inside. It keeps the sun off of you very well and makes it nice and shady inside. So I put up with the minor inconveniences. Somebody told me that it makes the truck feel "cozy" but I always thought that it was the Harley blanket and pillows on the back seat that did it...
