Yeah eventually it will fill, but I like to have some in there. Makes me nervous to run the TC dry for the seconds it takes to pump up.
Just a quart or two. To install the TC, you have to tilt it vertical which means anything over half full will pour out.
Make sure you get the pump drive rings centered around the input shaft. Some trannies will let the rings slide out of line which makes installing the TC tough. Not sure if this is true for the Fords. You might also mark which way the drive "teeth" are orineted so that you can orient the TC notches before sliding it home.
Thanks guys... I asked because I read an article that said you had to put at least one quart in there or it would not pump up; didn't really seem right to me.
