Can someone tell me how to read a private message? I am following all instructions but the message won't open. This is the second one like this.
What is the trick?
All I can figure is that there wasn't a message in the folder. That would explain why it didn't show up. This reminds me of the Vintage Air instructions.
You are not alone in your confusion - I managed to clear all mine out and now have zero messages, but still see a warning that I have a new message to read!
I am expecting a message so I have to try, but mostly guess it would be better to email a member than to send him a PM.
Sounds like gremlins..........
Got the same thing, it showed a sent on date in 1969, I don't think that this forum was around back then just deleted it cause there wasn't anything to open. Everyone should have received a pm a short while ago that was a test from the system administrator testing some sort of notification system
Ain't technology great....
I was just concerned because I have a 55 F100 for sale; also, a ram-power steering unit, and I didn't want to lose a sale. I just wish it had a big "view message" icon.
A little more right brain input would help guys like me.

Boy am I glad you got one of those. I saw the date, suddenly I was back in Viet Nam, doin some wackey weed - whoa, Brain Snap.
I got the 1969 message too - but then these were not old trucks, but daily drivers! I gave $2300 for a F100 with a 352 and 4 speed - and it was not like new, it WAS new!
I'm glad others have had the same problems that I had openiing messages because I was about to send for help from the kids ( I'm not a computer guru) I didn't get one till shortly before I retired.
This site has been by far the best one for help and support concerning info on this old iron hobby. I lurk about almost every day but don't post a lot.
1969 was a good year,I think,I just wish I could remember
Later..Randy
1. Click on User CP (User Command Post) near the top of the screen on the left.
2. Click on the Private Messages-->List Messages option on the left.
3. You may want to refresh your browser screen at this point to make sure all current messages are listed. For Internet Explorer users, click on your browser refresh button . For others, find "refresh" under one of the menu options.
At this point, you should see all of your messages and be able to read them. If not, let me know.
