Given that 265-75-16 tires essentially rub the inner fender liner in turns, how is one supposed to use/fit tire chains on the front of a '99 F250 Super Duty 4x4?
(I'm not sure if this was the stock tire, as the truck came to me with different tires and rims and the spare is a 235-85-16.)
What is the stock tire size for a '99 Lariet crew/4x4 and has anyone found a way to fit tire chains?
stock tire is a 265/75-16 (most models), i think some of the base models may have came with a 235/75-16. i run 285/75-16 and have no trouble runing chains at all (i have them on every year while hunting). the after market wheels you have must be wider and/or have a different offset if its that close
Well, these are factory 2002 rims on a '99 truck, running this 265/75/16 tire. When the tire is half way turned in the fenderwell, it's within 1/2" of the factory fender liner. Going straight and turned full is no problem. I take chains hunting, and when you need 'em, you can't go without them.
If it is rubbing on the liner that is towards the cab. Just take a long zip tie drill 2 holes in the liner and pull it back and zip tie it. I had to do this when i got m 42" tires put on my 04' CC 6.0. Work out real good and you cant even tell as long as you use lack zip tie.
here is the clearence of my 285/75-16's, if you are as close or closer with your 265/75-16's then maybe your front springs are a little worn out and are sagging a bit...dono.
